The Asian adventure is about to begin

Well I have brought my ticket and I will be leaving Sydney on the 5th of September. My first stop an agonising 18 hours in Bangkok, followed by a quick jaunt across to Hanoi.

My days are now filled with a mix of anticipation, excitement and a little fear. I am worried about how my trivia team will cope without my amazing ability to spell, how my office will deal with the absence of the Best Recruiter Ever and I am afraid I will have no one to play back gammon with.

In reality I have been absorbing as much info about South East Asia and the sub continent as possible and attempting to procure tickets to ICC championships in India.

I read an article about flash packing today which outlined the new bread of traveler- who backpacks in style with a lap top, digital camera and a blog. What have I become.

I wanted to include a map on the site so you can follow my trip in Asia. I fly into Hanoi in 12 days... and then spend a few days in Ha Long Bay and Sa Pa before making my way to Ho Chi Min City (HCMC for those in the know).

The plan is to then go back across to Bangkok and down to Krabi where I will take in the best hospitality that Ya Ya's has to offer on Railay Beach before flying to Delhi!

It is too exciting. I am having a farewell party this Saturday at a pub in Darlinghurst which will be my last official hurrah- counting down the days...
